Day 1: Arrival Palangkaraya - Katimpun

(Early flight from Jakarta at 5 AM is very recommended for the tour. However, a pre-night stay is also a good option)
We will pick you up at the airport or hotel in Palangkaraya, where you will be going for transfer to your boat in Palangka Raya harbour to start your journey. Cruise past the stilted and floating houses of the provincial capital and continue upstream along the forest-lined river, passing villages. We stop at the village of Petuk Katimpun and walk along boardwalks to visit the small library foundation. The boat continues upstream to a beautiful black water lake system, where we take canoes at sunset. Later we find a quiet location for overnight.

Day 2: Bapallas - Bos - Sei Gohong

Wake up to the sound of chirping birds up in the wild. As the boat moves up to Rungan river, breakfast will be served in the common room. The boat moves up the Rungan River as you enjoy breakfast. On arrival to Palas Island (Bapallas), a pre-release island operated by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS), take a motorised canoe to observe the orangutans and later continue to the BOS Education Centre where orangutans are awaiting release in socialisation cages. Learn about the BOS history and rehabilitation programs. Return to the boat and enjoy a leisurely lunch on board. The rest of the day will be free as you cruise around.

Day 3: End of Adventure

Early in the morning, you will go to Tangkiling Hill by a short car journey. This is where you will visit Dayak's Cultural Spirit House and then climb to the top of the hill. After breakfast, continue your adventure to Kanarakan where you will pass the Orangutan island. Arriving in Kanarakan, you will meet the Dayak Ngaju's village Elder, where a ceremony will welcome you to their village. Stroll around the village accompanied by the Elder, where you get to see some of the home gardens, rubber field and rubber tapping demos. The trip ends with a visit to the Elder's house while sipping coffee and sharing story. Return to the boat where lunch will be served, and you will cruise to Sei Gohong as the tour ends.
